letter to my son...

Dear Abhigyaan,

All set with your shining armor and all fighting gear…

Nope, you are not going for war, my dear; it’s just an exam.

Yes, an important one, as it is the foundation stone of your life’s building blocks.

So just stay calm and confident. All the hard work and effort you did in the last one year — it’s time to put them on paper, that’s all.

Pack the stress, confusion, anxieties, and other people’s expectations into a suitcase and keep it all aside. We will not throw it, as we have to analyze it so that you don’t repeat all that in the future. They all add up to our book of life experiences. Just go with the pen and your attitude 😉: “I will do it.”

I promise, my vegetarian pandit, I won’t ask you to have *maach bhat*, as it is a ritual in most Bengali families during exam times, since fish is considered lucky.

Instead, I will cook chicken 😉😂… kidding, baby.

Abhigyaan, which beautifully means a memento or token of recognition, is a way to honor someone’s achievements and the goodness they bring into the world.

We are proud and honored to be called your parents, as until now, you have lived every inch of your name… my love.

So even if you don’t reach the benchmarks you have set this time, you will always be loved, and it should not matter to you as well, as the world doesn’t end here; you will get opportunities. Just remember, as it has been quoted, “Real strength is owning your mistakes and working harder.” and , I am raising a brave man. I’m sure of it. ❤️

Ending the note with a quote from your fav Mr. Jobs:

“The people who are crazy enough to think they can change the world are the ones who do.”

Now go and conquer… and don’t worry, your armor, your attitude, and yes, your chicken (nope)  ... paneer n cheese are all ready for backup! 😉

Luv,

Mommy
